People tell me I need to get my Bitcoin off the exchange. What does that mean, and where do I put it?
Not your keys. Not your coins.
Normally, when people buy Bitcoin, they buy it on a custodial exchange. That means the exchange holds your bitcoin until you ask for it to be sent to a wallet you control. Until then, you’re trusting them to stay solvent, stay honest, and stay unhacked.
What is a cold wallet? Do I really need one?
A cold wallet is a Bitcoin wallet where the seed phrase is generated completely offline, which makes it far more resistant to hacks.
If you’re serious about protecting your Bitcoin, a cold wallet isn’t just recommended. It’s essential.
Do I need to already own Bitcoin to work with you?
No, and coming to us first is honestly the better order. Understanding what you’re buying tends to prevent the mistakes that are expensive and permanent.
Will you hold my Bitcoin for me?
No, and that’s deliberate.
We do not take custody of client funds, we do not manage money, and we will never ask you for your recovery phrase. You hold your own keys. Our job is making sure you know exactly how, and why.
I’m not technical at all. Is this going to be over my head?
If you can install an app and follow along on a video call, you’re technical enough. Everything is done together, on your own devices, at whatever pace you need.
If you ever need a glossary open to follow us, we explained it badly. That is our problem to fix, not yours.
Can we do this in Spanish or Portuguese?
Yes. Sessions run in English, Spanish or Portuguese, whichever you are most comfortable thinking in.
